#Durianium—Sharing sweetness with the community—1

With many durian trees and other fruit trees thriving at Grandma’s house, Yarik, Eva, and Naya’s family decided it was time to move a few giant sugar apple (jumbo Srikaya) and sapodilla (Sawo) trees to new homes.

Papa took on the task of relocating the giant sugar apple tree. Armed with a hoe, crowbar, and a small metal shovel, Papa carefully dug around the roots. To ensure safety and comfort, Papa wore a sturdy pair of work gloves. Once the tree was uprooted, Papa offered it to a nearby neighbor, thinking they might enjoy nurturing this sweet fruit-bearing tree.

However, the neighbor politely declined, explaining that they didn’t have the space to plant it. Unfazed, Papa decided to relocate the tree to the roadside in front of Yarik, Naya, and Eva’s aunt’s house. After carefully planting it, Papa generously watered the tree, thoughtfully mixing the water with Vitamin B-1 to promote healthy growth. Papa's care didn’t end there—Papa also gave the same attention to the sapodilla tree and another giant sugar apple tree that had been moved, ensuring all the relocated plants had the best chance to thrive.

Our hope is simple: by planting these trees along the roadside, their fruits can one day be enjoyed by passersby. It’s our small way of sharing the sweetness of nature with the community. 🌱🍎
