At Grandma’s orchard today, Papa set out to shave, trim, and clear the persistent weeds and tall grass using the grass cutter. Even though it’s the dry season, weeds and grass still thrive, especially under the durian trees where we regularly water and fertilize the soil.
Of course, these unwelcome plants had to be cleared to keep the orchard healthy and neat.
Watching Papa work, Yarik suddenly expressed a desire to join. With a gleam of excitement in his eyes, he picked up a smaller tool and began shaving down the weeds alongside Papa. What started as simple maintenance turned into a beautiful dance—a rhythmic duet of father and son, moving side by side through the orchard like partners in a choreographed performance.
The joy of shared effort and the bond formed in moments like these make the hard work feel light. The orchard wasn’t just cleaned that day—it was filled with laughter, unity, and love.
Because at the heart of every thriving durian tree… is a family growing together.
