#Durianium—Cultivating ideas, growing knowledge

We love reading, learning, and writing because these activities are both fun and fulfilling. When we have spare time, Mama and Papa often collaborate on something exciting—publishing scientific papers for international conferences!

Our recent research topic was Contextual Ontology, which explores how one or more things can be perceived and valued differently depending on context (or perspective). The idea is that anything can hold varying values or even opposing meanings when viewed through different lenses. We included calculations and case studies to make the concept relatable.

The applications of contextual ontology are vast. It allows us to assign new values to existing things or even create opportunities for something entirely new. We presented our findings in a mix of English and Russian to accommodate the diverse audience at the conference.

The experience was unique yet equally rewarding, much like tending to our durian (and other fruits) orchard. Whether it’s cultivating fertile ground or nurturing the mind with ideas, the joy lies in contributing to something meaningful for humanity.

#Durianium—Transforming tough soil into fertile ground

In Yarik, Naya, and Eva’s grandma’s garden, the soil was anything but fertile—dense, hard, and unyielding. Transforming it into fertile ground became our mission, and it wasn’t an easy task.

Armed with determination, we began loosening the soil with shovels, creating mounds that we enriched with manure to improve its fertility. The work was grueling, especially under the scorching midday sun. The ground was stubborn, filled with rocky layers and compacted clay that demanded extra effort to break apart.

Despite the challenges, we kept going, motivated by the vision of a thriving garden. After a few intense sessions, the transformation was complete—lush, fertile mounds of soil now ready to welcome fruit trees. The hard work paid off, and the land was finally prepared for planting.

#Durianium—Cultivating the red longan

One of the tropical fruit trees we planted in the garden of Yarik, Naya, and Eva’s grandma is the red longan. It’s similar to the regular longan but with a few unique characteristics.

The red longan stands out with its slightly different shape and color. Its leaves are smaller, broader, and feel a bit firmer to the touch. They also have a reddish-brown hue that adds a distinct charm. The fruit’s skin, unlike the usual light brown, is a striking red, making it visually captivating.

Despite its unique appearance, the red longan’s flavor remains as sweet and delightful as the traditional longan we all love. We’re so happy to have this rare variety in our garden—it’s a true treasure!
